Ruins of Future Utopia
The album “Ruins of Future Utopia” is a collaboration between the band Vvhile and Belgrade-based visual artist Saša Tkačenko. It consists of a vinyl and the booklet, and was released as part of Tkačenko’s exhibition of the same name. I was invited to contribute to the project with a photograph of the gallery space, which was used as the cover of the release. Eventually, a few other images also found their way into the brochure about Tkačenko’s work.
This project was important for me as an author, since I have always desired for my photograph to end up on a vinyl album cover. At the same time, I see it as a private success, as Vvhile is one of my favorite local music artists. I had the complete freedom in making style-related decisions and it was a pleasure to be a part of this exploration on Yugoslavia and melancholy.
